Teddy Bears remain one of the most popular toys for children, beloved for being soft and cuddly. They are named after Teddy Roosevelt, a U.S. president at the turn of the 20th century. Today, several companies specialize in the design and sale of specialty Teddy Bears.

  • History: The Teddy Bear story begins, of all places, on a bear hunt in Mississippi. The story goes that President Teddy Roosevelt, an avid outdoorsman, came upon an injured bear, but refused to hunt it because its injuries made it unsporting. The story became a national phenomenon, and cartoons of Teddy and his bear sprang up all over the country. Stuffed bears soon followed, and of course they were known as Teddy’s Bears.
  • Characteristics: These mini Teddy Bears are perfect for DIY jewelry or charms, or they make sweet wedding favors.
  • Size: Classic, light brown Teddy Bear Minis are around an inch long, about the size of a large blueberry.

    Victoria ★★★★★

These little bears are tiny but surprisingly well-made, with no loose threads or rough edges. I bought two bags for party favors and they were a hit with both the kids and adults. The soft texture is exactly what you’d want from a cuddly toy.

My nephew’s face lit up when he saw the sheer volume—192 tiny bears is a LOT of tiny bears, and they’re all soft enough to squish for hours. The history about Teddy Roosevelt is a cute bonus to tell him while we sort them by color.

    Madison C. ★★★★★

My toddler has been carrying one of these little bears around all week, and I was surprised at how soft the material is on such tiny plush toys. The 192-piece count is perfect for party favors or sharing with a whole classroom.
