Dolphins live worldwide in tropical and temperate seas. There are actually two types within the species, one that prefers shallow coastal waters and one adapted to deeper, cooler water. Because of their slightly upturned jaws, they appear to be constantly smiling.

  • History: The abilities of Bottlenose Dolphins defy expectations and amaze those who study these delightful creatures. Their acrobatic abilities are notable - Aided by smooth bodies and an ideal shape, they zip through the water at nearly 20 miles an hour, and they can leap 16 feet into the air. They also use echolocation, which is like a sixth sense for Dolphins, allowing them to sense both prey and predators by projecting sound waves, which travel almost five times faster in water than they do in air. The returning waves help them sense the size and location of creatures large and small up to several hundred feet away.
  • Scientific Name: Tursiops truncatus
  • Characteristics: Playful Bottlenose Dolphins are known for their agility, which is demonstrated in these lifelike figures. They’d be fun additions to an ocean-themed party or ocean school project. They’d also make cool giveaways or charms for sports or swim teams.
  • Size: These Dolphins are a little longer than a pushpin, around an inch in length.

    George ★★★★★

These little dolphins are so detailed and colorful, I almost didn’t want to open the package. The mix of coastal and deep-water designs keeps it interesting, and 192 pieces means I’ve got plenty to share with my friends.

    Emma ★★★★★

I was pleasantly surprised by how detailed each dolphin is—they really captured the two distinct habitats mentioned in the description. The variety keeps things interesting as you sort through the bag.

    Violet ★★★★★

The pack arrived with all 192 pieces accounted for, and the dolphin molds are incredibly detailed—you can even see the fin shapes matching the coastal versus deep-water types. They're a bit small, but perfect for sprinkling on a cake for an ocean-themed party.
