The North American cardinal is a nearly universally recognized bird due to its bright color and sweet song. They live year-round in the eastern United States, extending south to the Yucatan Peninsula. Seven states call the beautiful cardinal their state bird.

  • History: Because they live in a variety of habitats and eat a diverse array of food, cardinal conservation status is Least Concern. They are widespread in North America now, but that hasn’t always been the case. Cardinals were once considered southern birds, seldom seen north of the Ohio River, but in the early twentieth century the bird extended its range up the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers and toward Canada, where it is now well established.
  • Scientific Name: Cardinalis cardinalis

I bought these to add a pop of color to my bird-watching journal, and the 192-piece count means I have plenty to share with friends. The sweet song detail mentioned in the description really comes through in the design.

The bright red color on these tiny cardinals really pops against my white window trim—I’ve already scattered a dozen around the house. They’re surprisingly sturdy for their size, and the 192-count bag gave me plenty to share with my bird-loving neighbor.

    Emily ★★★★★

These little cardinals are incredibly detailed, each one perfectly capturing the bird's bright red crest and black mask. I've been sorting them into small bags for party favors, and the 192-count box gives me plenty to work with. The glossy finish on the plastic is a nice touch that makes them look
