Poison Dart Frogs live throughout the tropical rain forests of Central and South America. They are known for their bright colors, which can include eye-popping shades of red, yellow, blue, and black. They are also extremely toxic.

  • History: For centuries, indigenous people of Columbia used the poison of these colorful frogs to coat the tips of their blow darts, leading to the Poison Dart Frog’s common nickname. The poison is incredibly powerful, which is why predators steer clear of these colorful creatures. Scientists aren’t yet sure where the frogs obtain the poison, but species raised in captivity do not develop it, so it’s assumed the deadly poison comes from some element of the frog’s diet.
  • Scientific Name: Dendrobatidae
  • Characteristics: These colorful Poison Dart Frogs are sure to catch the eye. Give them away as prizes at a conservation or rain forest presentation or themed party, use them as decorations, or include them in a frog-themed art project.

    Robert N. ★★★★★

I picked these up for my son’s frog-themed birthday party favors, and the tiny size is perfect for little hands. The red and black patterns on each piece are surprisingly detailed for miniatures.

    James Y. ★★★★★

The blues and yellows in this batch are so vivid they look like little jewels scattered on my desk. I've been picking out just the red ones to use in a craft project and the detail on each tiny frog is really impressive. A fun, high-quality set that exceeded my expectations for the price.

    Eli ★★★★★

I love that the set includes all four color variations—the bright red one really pops. Each frog is tiny and detailed, perfect for adding a splash of jungle color to my desk.
