Giraffes live in scattered enclaves throughout sub-Saharan Africa. They are the tallest animals alive today, stretching to nearly 20 feet, and their amazing tongues allow them to reach nearly two more feet and eat their favorite foods.

  • History: Having such a long neck could really be a pain - fortunately, Giraffes have some pretty amazing features in their design. First, the Giraffe’s heart has to work hard to pump blood all the way up its neck to reach the brain, but when a Giraffe stoops down to drink, all that blood should just rush to its head. Instead, the Giraffe has valves that close when it lowers its head, keeping the blood flow minimal.

Got these for my niece’s birthday and she absolutely lost it over the tiny tongue detail—each one’s pose is different enough that we spent an hour spotting them. The 129 count is no joke, they filled the party favor bag perfectly. Sturdy little things, too, survived being thrown across the room twic

I was skeptical about the tongue detail, but they actually nailed it—each tiny giraffe has that long purple tongue reaching out, just like the description says. The box of 129 is packed tight, so expect a fun dump-and-sort session to find all the poses.

    Benjamin ★★★★★

Loved finding these in the mail—129 little giraffes is way more than I expected for the price, and the mix is perfect for scattering around my desk for a laugh. The tongue detail in the description made me smile, and they’re just the right size to hide in a mug or on a shelf.
