The most arboreal of all the great apes, orangutans spend most of their time in trees. Females are wholly responsible for raising their young; they feed them, sleep in the same trees as them, and carry them everywhere. This mama and her baby are coming over to say hello!

  • History: Studied extensively for their knowledge and learning capabilities, orangutans have showed an ability to master sophisticated tools, solve puzzles, and communicate through a basic form of sign language. Some researchers even believe different populations of wild orangutans have distinct cultures. Unfortunately, all types of orangutan are endangered, and the Sumatran species is critically endangered, mainly due to a loss of their habitat through deforestation.
  • Scientific Name: Pongo pygmaeus
  • Characteristics: Expertly painted for true to life accuracy and molded by professionals, our nature figurines bring even the most exotic wildlife into your home. Orangutans are among the most intelligent and social primates, and we’re sure you and this friendly orangutan with baby toy will quickly become friends!
  • Size: 2.5 inches long and 3.2 inches tall, our Orangutan with Baby toy figurine is about the size of a deck of cards stood upright.
  • The Orangutan with Baby is part of the Wild Safari® Wildlife collection.
  • All of our products are Non-toxic and BPA free.

    Sophia ★★★★★

I love how the baby orangutan's tiny fingers are sculpted gripping onto the mother's fur, it looks so realistic. This toy captures their arboreal nature perfectly, and the pose makes me want to hang it from a bookshelf branch.

    Julian B. ★★★★★

The mother orangutan's arm is sculpted so the baby fits perfectly against her chest, just like the description says about how they carry their young. It's a small detail but makes the toy feel more realistic and educational for my kid.

    Violet ★★★★★

My daughter carries this little pair everywhere, and I love that the mom figure is molded in that protective pose with the baby clinging to her chest. The paint detail on the fur actually shows the reddish-brown tones of a real orangutan, which makes it feel more educational than your average toy.
