Also known as the cougar, puma, and catamount, the mountain lion is a type of large cat found all throughout South America, Central America, and North America. Interestingly, the mountain lion is more closely related to the domestic cat than it is any large cat found in Africa or Asia.

  • History: Other than the jaguar, the mountain lion is the largest cat found in the New World. They are classified as a species of least concern on the conservation status spectrum, and actually have the largest range of any land animal in the Americas. However, due to the ever increasing level of human development and the resulting habitat fragmentation, mountain lion populations are beginning to become isolated from one another.
  • Scientific Name: Puma concolor
  • Characteristics: Although mountain lions have no known predator, they often compete with bears and wolves for food. With that in mind, we’re sure this mountain lion toy figurine would appreciate a spot on your desk or nightstand as well as a meal to itself!
  • Size: 2.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches long, this mountain lion toy figurine is slightly larger than a soda can resting on its side.
  • The Mountain Lion is part of the Wild Safari® North American Wildlife collection
  • All of our products are Non-toxic and BPA free

    Riley ★★★★★

The articulated jaw on this mountain lion figure lets me pose it stalking through its habitat, and the fur texture looks realistic enough for a diorama. I’ve used it to teach my niece about big cats, and the durable plastic has held up to her play sessions.

    Victoria I. ★★★★★

This mountain lion figure has a nice weight to it, not flimsy at all. My kid immediately started staging jungle scenes with it, and the painted eyes look quite attentive.

    Emily ★★★★★

The fur has realistic shading that makes it look like a real cougar, and the pose is perfect for educational play. My son brings it everywhere to teach his friends about big cats.
