It may not look it, especially when standing on its hind legs, but the black bear is actually one of the smallest bear species. Endemic to North America, the black bear often wanders into urban areas in search of food and is the most commonly encountered species of bear.

  • Scientific Name: Ursus Americanus
  • Characteristics: Although many individuals associate a bear standing on its hind legs as an aggressive or defensive posture, it can also indicate a curious bear that just wants to get a better look at something. Professionally painted and expertly sculpted, this inquisitive standing black bear toy makes an excellent gift for a nature enthusiast or as an addition to a figurine collection, and is also a great educational resource and toy for play!
  • Size: Our standing black bear toy model measures 1.95 inches wide and 4 inches tall, a touch smaller than a soda can.
  • The Standing Black Bear is part of the Wild Safari® North American Wildlife collection
  • All of our products are Non-toxic and BPA free

    Joshua ★★★★★

The way it balances on those hind legs is surprisingly sturdy for a toy, my toddler loves pointing out its little ears. It's a fun way to teach her about the bear that wanders near our neighborhood, and the standing pose makes it stand out from her other animal figures.

My son recognized it immediately from our trip to Yellowstone. The fur texture is surprisingly soft for a toy at this price.

The standing pose makes it look way more imposing than I expected for a toy, and the fact that it's based on the real black bear's habit of wandering into urban areas adds a fun educational twist. My kid's already using it to stage backyard wildlife scenes.
