Sleeping Bear Press Truck In The Muck

My 2-year-old son loves the "stuck" page and makes engine sounds every time we read it—the story is simple but keeps him engaged through the whole thing. The muddy illustrations are just detailed enough to point out the tires and steam shovel without being overwhelming for a toddler.

The repetitive "wheels stuck in the mud" lines are perfect for my 3-year-old, who chants them every time we read it. The thick, glossy pages hold up well to his excited page-turning, and the story builds just enough suspense before the satisfying rescue.

My toddler can't get enough of the truck stuck in the mud, and the story is just the right length for a quick bedtime read. The rhyme makes it easy for him to join in.
