Learn how to pick the perfect tooth fairy cushion for your child. Compare designs, materials, and hanging options to make the right choice.
Quick answer
Look for a tooth fairy cushion with a secure pocket, a fun design your child loves, and a sturdy hanging cord. We recommend the Deep Sea, Rainbow Fairy, or Space options from ToyTopia.
Why a cushion beats a pillowcase
A tooth fairy cushion has a dedicated pocket that keeps the tooth safe until the fairy arrives. Unlike a pillowcase, the tooth won't get lost in the sheets or fall out when your child moves in their sleep. The cushion also becomes a special ritual item that makes losing a tooth feel exciting.
Design matters for engagement
Kids are more likely to use a cushion that matches their interests. The embroidered designs on these cushions are bright and shiny, which adds to the magic. A design that resonates with your child—whether it's underwater creatures, fairies, or outer space—turns a practical item into a treasured keepsake.
Hanging and placement options
All three cushions include a handy cord to hang on a door knob or bed head. This keeps the cushion within easy reach and visible, so your child won't forget to put their tooth in the pocket. Consider where your child sleeps and whether a door knob or headboard works best for your setup.
How to choose the right cushion
- Match the design to your child's interests: Choose the Deep Sea cushion for ocean lovers, the Rainbow Fairy cushion for kids who adore magical creatures, or the Space cushion for future astronauts. A design your child loves increases the chance they'll use the cushion consistently.
- Check the pocket size and material: All three cushions have a cotton pocket that is large enough to hold a standard baby tooth. Cotton is soft and won't scratch the tooth or your child's fingers.
- Consider the hanging method: Each cushion comes with a cord for hanging on a door knob or bed head. If your child's bed doesn't have a headboard, a door knob is a great alternative. Ensure the hanging location is within easy reach for your child.
- Think about durability and cleaning: The embroidered designs are durable, but the cushion may need occasional spot cleaning. Check the care instructions before purchasing. Spot cleaning is usually sufficient; avoid machine washing to preserve the embroidery.
